What Are Some Common Piping Connections? – Cityers

Drill the bigger hole through the header pipe using a stub in connection. The end with a contoured shape of the branch pipe will fit into the hole. You then weld the two into the connecting point. The stub-on connector uses holes that have the same diameter. The header hole or branch pipe’s hole is same in size as the hole for the run pipe. Thus, the branch pipe can be seated on top of the run pipe.

It is important to know which of the piping connections. Stub-on connectors are used when your header and branch pipes are identical in size. When your branch pipe has smaller diameter than the header pipe, you use the stub-in connector. Using the wrong type of connection can lead to problems. Stub-in offers the strongest connection however, it is recommended to employ either connection in context with low temperature and low pressure fluids. Both options replace the piping joints with three times welding, which is necessary in high-pressure fluids. a29n2kkpnp.
